CUNNINGHAM, Fr. Seán Maurice O.P. – peacefully, in the loving care of the nurses, carers and staff at Mowlam Nursing Home, Sligo., formerly of Strathroy, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, late of Holy Cross Friary Sligo and Mowlam nursing home.

Deeply regretted by his sisters Rosemary (Marshall) and Carmel (Rosen), brother Eamon, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, his Dominican confrères and friends. Pre-deceased by his brothers Páraig, Fr. Séamus (C.S.Sp.), Fr. Tom (C.S.Sp.), Fr. Colum (C.S.Sp.) and Michael, and his sisters Maura, (Sr. Breid IBVM), Kathleen (Nolan) and Breid.

Rest In Peace

Reposing at Holy Cross Friary, Sligo, on Tuesday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm for family and relatives only. Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday at 2:30 pm, followed by burial in Sligo Cemetery.

    Fr Sean was a very dear friend of mine many a day I met him in the cafe in the arcarde he would love my company and I would know I was in for a great chat a
    with a littlee cup of coffee in Sligo town we had great fun we would laugh aut the great one and only great TRYONE FOOTBALL TEAM even though I not from TYRONE I still love to see them winning he would tell me a good joke too I miss him his beautiful smile and positive vibes he was great at given advice to young people about holding on to their faith he was a gentleman he told me I will suffer but he smiled at me at seen my badge for PROLIFE I am a member of PROLIFE and member of the LEGION OF MARY he was so good for promoting the FIRST FRIDAY AND FIRST SATURDAY I gave out leaflets for him he designed them himself and got them printed he used talk about it He Loved the Firary he would be opening the gates at 8 o’clock in the morning he was so devoted to OUR LADY AND JESUS he always wore his collar as a witness to his PRIESTHOOD PRAISE GOD I never forget his kindness towards me He really loved Our blessed Mother he passed away on the anniversary of the second APPRATION OF OUR LADY OF FATIMA he passed away 13 of June 2021 and there is a statue of
    Our Lady of Fatima in the Fiary I thank Our Lady for giving us such a gift as Fr Sean may He Rest In Peace
