MEN are being encouraged to take time out for their health and wellbeing at a free community event in Omagh next week.
As part of Men’s Health Week 2025, Strathroy Community Association will host a Men’s Health and Wellbeing Event on Saturday, June 14, from 10am to 2pm at Strathroy Community Centre.
The event aims to bring men together in a relaxed and welcoming environment to learn more about looking after their physical, emotional, and mental health.
Organisers promise an informative and engaging day, with guest speakers offering expert insights into common men’s health issues and how to take proactive steps toward a healthier lifestyle.
Chair of Strathroy Community Association, Martin McColgan, said the event is open to all men in Omagh and the surrounding areas.
“This is a great opportunity for men to connect, have important conversations and access valuable information and support,” he said.
“We’ll have guest speakers, healthcare professionals and free health checks available throughout the day.”
Attendees will be able to avail of checks for blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as one-to-one conversations with health experts on topics such as smoking cessation, nutrition, and healthy eating.
Refreshments will be served, creating an informal setting for attendees to enjoy a chat and cuppa while learning more about their health.
Transport to the event will be provided by Translink from several Neighbourhood Renewal Areas, including Campsie, Gallows Hill, Culmore, O’Kane Park and Mullaghmore. The initiative is supported by the Western Health and Social Care Trust’s Health Improvement, Equality and Involvement Department.
