AN event has been organised in Dungannon to discuss the local impact of the current global business uncertainty.
With huge changes coming into effect as a result of US President Donald Trump’s tariffs on goods coming into America, countries throughout the world are trying to work out what it will mean for them.
The Dungannon and South Tyrone Chamber of Commerce and Industry is bringing together local business leaders, entrepreneurs, and key decision-makers to tackle the issues that matter most to the local economy.
The Big Debate event will be held at The Junction in Dungannon from 10am to 12 noon on June 4.
A spokesperson for the organisers said: “With the prospect of a global recession, a stock market plunge, tariffs being applied, minimum wage increases, national insurance contribution rises for employers and potential job losses; just some of the current issues that will be debated by a select panel of experts at this timely event.
“This two-hour session is your opportunity to gain real insight into the current economic landscape – both globally and locally – and how it affects your business.
“Our expert panel will dive deep into the pressing challenges faced by the Mid Ulster region, offering practical perspectives, guidance, and strategies to help you adapt and thrive and meet some of these unprecedented challenges not seen for decades.
“More than just a discussion, The Big Debate is your chance to ask questions, raise concerns, and connect with others in the business community who share your drive to succeed.”
Admission to the event is £15 and the speakers will be:
- John Campbell, Economics & Business Editor, BBC
- Stephen McCammon, Managing Director, Menarys Department Stores
- Angela McGowan, Director, CBI Northern Ireland
- Iain Joannides, Director of Regional Business, Invest NI
- Karen Doyle, Planning Service Lead – Local, Mid Ulster District Council
