DRUMRAGH Integrated College is a vibrant, high achieving school, catering for all abilities and welcoming to all traditions and backgrounds.
Our school motto ‘Excellence for Everyone’ ensures the highest academic standards, excellent pastoral support, a curriculum tailored to the needs of all our students and valued relationships with our parents and community. Our students are encouraged to follow their interests and we will offer more opportunities as the school expands.
We are currently in the early stages of planning for a new extension which includes additional classrooms, an additional Technology and Design suite, additional SEN accommodation, a fitness suite and a multi-purpose hall.
Both our Grammar Pathway and All Ability Pathway cater for students of all abilities, interests and needs, and both pathways challenge our students to achieve their very best, in a child centred, supportive and caring environment.
The Grammar Pathway provides opportunities to study additional subjects such as a second language, and caters for students progressing at a faster rate. This allows some students to complete their GCSE Maths earlier than normal.
Entry to the Grammar Pathway is competitive and students must achieve consistently high academic standards to remain on the pathway. It is expected that students following the Grammar Pathway will study Double Award Science, Additional Maths, English Literature with the possibility of a second language if they choose so.
Further details can be found in our prospectus, which is available on our website, or on request from the school.
We aim to make the transition from primary school to Drumragh Integrated College as easy as possible. Each student is looked after by a strong team of caring professionals, including the Form Teacher, Head of Year, Head of Pastoral Care, Safeguarding Team, Vice-Principal and the Principal.
The Special Needs Co-ordinator is available for those with particular learning or emotional needs. Students with English as their second language are supported through additional learning opportunities and parents can avail of translation services and interpretive support throughout the year to find out how their child is progressing.
We are very proud of our students and delight in their achievements. This year saw Aoibhin Spriggs progress to Cambridge University to study Law, Cara McGillion is studying Music in Liverpool and Katie-Ellen McGillin and Jessica Gracey are both studying Medicine.
We know that education is not simply all about achieving high grades. Our students leave us being open-minded, tolerant, curious and confident enabling them to grasp all opportunities and experiences afforded to them on their individual journeys.
Strong and supportive home-school links are very important to us. We recognise the role of successful parent- school relationships in the success of our students and we will be there for you when you need us. Our door is always open and you can be assured we will do whatever is required to ensure your child reaches their personal best.
This year, due to the Covid-19 restrictions, our Open Day will be virtual.
Please join us online via our Facebook page, YouTube channel or our school website. You will be able to meet our acting principal, John Dennison, our teaching staff and pupils, listen to our head boy, Harry McGoldrick and head girl, Rebecca Cunningham and wander, at your leisure, around our school.
Once the current Covid restrictions have been lifted, we invite you to come and see Drumragh Integrated College and experience the warmth and vibrancy our school has to offer. We are waiting with excitement to welcome you all to our school.
- Drumragh Integrated College ‘Virtual Open Day’ will be live from Thursday, January 28.
