A DUNGANNON man’s dream have become reality as the short film he produced, ‘An Irish Goodbye’, was named best short film at this year’s Academy Awards.
Thirty-three-year-old Pearce Cullen, who is currently residing in Belfast, worked as a producer on the film which tells the story of two estranged brothers who come together after their mother’s death.
Speaking to the Tyrone Herald before the big night, Pearce told us about his role on the film which also won a BAFTA a few weeks ago.
“My main duties included bringing in the crew,” he said.
“We brought in a crew on a budget, so it’s amazing to reflect on how far we have come and what we have achieved.”
“It was just one of those scripts that had something really special about it,” added Pearce.
“It was great to work with the actors, Tom Berkeley and Ross White, in the early stages of development, and then it all became real when the cast got on set.
“The relationship between the cast felt really special.”
