THE Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) paid tribute to PC Ronan Kerr on the 13th anniversary of his death on Tuesday.
Constable Kerr was murdered in Omagh when a booby-trap bomb exploded beneath his car as he left for work on April 2, 2011.
The attack was carried out by dissident republicans, however no-one has been charged with his murder.
The investigation had been led by DCI John Caldwell, who was shot at Youth Sport Omagh last year.
In a social media statement, a PSNI spokesperson said, “Thirteen years ago, we lost our friend and colleague, Constable Ronan Kerr.
“Today, we remember our colleague who was murdered as he left his home to come to work.
“He joined the Police Service of Northern Ireland to serve his own local community here in Fermanagh & Omagh.
“Our thoughts are with Ronan’s family.”
