A MAN accused of burglary and multiple driving offences has been granted bail despite police concerns that he may not abide by conditions.
Timothy Morrow (23), who has no fixed address, appeared before Omagh Magistrates Court, facing charges of burglary with intent to steal, two counts of theft, taking a vehicle without authority, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance.
Police opposed bail, citing Morrow’s previous failure to comply with conditions.
A detective told the court that Morrow had previously breached bail by not staying at his approved address and remained ‘at large’ for two months, despite knowing police were searching for him.
However, defence solicitor Patrick Roche argued that Morrow had left his previous bail address because the property, a Housing Executive home in Fintona, was ‘uninhabitable’ with broken windows.
Roche also pointed out that no arrest warrants had been issued for his client and that Morrow had attended his court dates as required.
Deputy District Judge Liam McStay granted bail at £200, with strict conditions and a ban on contacting the alleged victims.
Morrow is due to return to Omagh Magistrates Court on April 15.
