POLICE investigating a report of assault of two schoolchildren in Dungannon Park this morning, Thursday April 10, have charged a man to court.
A spokesperson said, “The 52-year-old man has been charged with two counts of common assault.
“He is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on May 7.
“As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
An eyewitness told We Are Tyrone earlier today that the primary school children were on an outing in the park when a man ‘aggressively charged’ at the group of children, knocking two pupils over.
They added that a ‘swift and courageous’ teacher intervened and shielded the children before police arrived.
