A STRABANE woman made a heart-felt plea this week in a last-ditch attempt to find an earring which holds vast sentimental value.
Anne Kirk of Laurel Drive lost the earring on March 16 as she emerged from a shop on Main Street and is devastated at the loss.
Describing how she lost her precious piece of jewellery, Anne said, “The only place I can think it was lost was when I was coming out of a shop the day before St Patrick’s Day. I removed my mask as I always do and, a little time after, I realised the earring was missing. On realising this, I retraced my steps, going into the shops I visited in town all the way up to Harley’s where Lawrence, my husband, had parked the car. Unfortunately, there was no sign of the jewellery anywhere.
“The earrings have a huge sentimental value for me as they were a 50th wedding anniversary gift from Lawrence. These particular earrings were rarely worn as they’re quite expensive and I wanted to ensure they were kept safe. It’s terrible luck that, on the one day I choose to wear them, one has gotten lost. I definitely could have kicked myself. Yes, they may have been expensive, but it’s the sentimental value which is of bigger importance to me. I’m really hoping someone has found it or seen it. I know after two weeks it’s a long shot, but you never know.”
The earring in question is gold coloured, in a broad U-shape and has markings etched all around it. Anne would dearly love to be reunited with her lost token of love from her husband. Anyone who can help Anne should call her on 07525857219.
