THE Spooky Trail at Ógras Youth Centre in Coalisland sacred the wits out of hundreds of visitors this Halloween, while girls from the club were out again on their ‘Random’ Act of Kindness’ bringing traditional apple tarts they had baked to folk in the local community.
Shane McDonald who is Leader in Charge at the Coalisland club, was thrilled with the response from the youth members of Ógras and thanked all those who made it a hugely successful and scary Halloween.
Fresh from completing the Dublin marathon on Sunday, Shane said, “Ten of the girls baked the tarts and brought them out to various people in the community. They were delighted to get the tarts and to meet the girls. It is their chance to give to the community and they really enjoyed it.”
The Spooky Trail lived up to its name and over 500 people dared the terror over four nights. Strictly for over 12s, Michael Myers, pigs’ heads, scary clowns and psychos with chain saws, hastened the steps of visitors through the haunted hall at the Parochial Centre!
Shane thanked Mid Ulster Council, and the Department for Communities for their continued support.
“We also want to thank the girls who made the tarts and all the staff and everyone who helped set up the Spooky Trail,” he said. “It was a fantastic success. There were also 40 lads from Ógras helped to dismantle the whole set. Everyone rows in and we are very grateful to them all”.
