Omagh kids bring Christmas cheer to residents in local care home

SMILES radiated on the faces of care home residents across Omagh this week as they enjoyed listening and singing along to carols they know and love, performed by talented pupils of Holy Family PS.

Pupils visited Gortmore Day Care Centre, Meadowbank Residential Home and Springlawn House on Monday morning, while the Primary Threes brought festive cheer to shoppers in SuperValu, Omagh, on the same day.

Speaking to the Ulster Herald, principal of Holy Family PS, Maura Dolan said that the carol singing is ‘one of the school’s calendar highlights’.

“Christmas is such a special time in schools, and the pupils of Holy family PS, just love to share their talents and festive joy with the wider community, especially the residents of our fabulous local care facilities,” Mrs Dolan said.

“Holy Family Pupils visited Gortmore, Meadowbank and Springlawn care homes, as well as Omagh SuperValu, and it was truly wonderful to see how much the children and our friends in the local community enjoyed singing together and enjoying lots of festive fun. These visits across the community, truly are one of the highlights of the children’s Christmas calendar each year.

“We thank them for the very warm welcome and treats for the children and wish everyone a very happy Christmas!”
