Little book worms celebrate World Book Day by reviewing their favourite novels…
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Charlie Bucket is the main character in the book, he is a poor boy who lives with his two parents and his four grandparents who can’t leave bed.
Charlie got lucky and won a golden ticket to visit the factory and turns out he actually gets the factory!
I personally think this book is worth the time it takes to read it especially because you get so engrossed in the book that you feel like you’re really at the Wonka factory.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
My favourite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid and I like it because it is comedic. The book is about a boy called Greg Heffley writing a journal about him and his best friend Rowley. Greg writes these journals because he thinks when he is older, he will sell these journals to show how he became successful.
My favourite character is Rowley because he is daft and funny and I also like this book because sometimes it is very random.

The Magic Faraway Tree
My favourite book that I’ve ever read is The Magic Faraway Tree because it all starts with introducing the characters and then they’re always going on adventures. It includes amazing adjectives and the adventures always boil up with excitement and are mythical and magical. The last chapter warmed my heart.

The BFG
My favourite book is The BFG by Roald Dahl. My favourite part was when Sophie first saw the BFG because she was amazed and scared at the same time! Another is when The BFG eats the snozzcumber and spits it out almost hitting Sophie, I thought that was funny. It is my favourite book because it’s funny and makes me laugh.
I also like it because of the giants who eat human ‘beans’.
My favourite character is Sophie because she reminds me of my younger self. I would recommend this book for people who like fantasy stories.

Five Go Down to the Sea
My favourite book is ‘Five Go Down to the Sea’ by Enid Blyton. It is my favourite book because it is an adventure story. I love adventure stories because you don’t know what is going to happen next and that makes it interesting and makes you want to keep on reading it.
I also love the characters and adventures that happen in this book. It is about four children and a dog that try and figure out who is smuggling goods into the place where they are staying on their summer holiday. It is an amazing book and worth reading!

Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
This is my favourite book in the Harry Potter series because there is lots of mystery and magic. The characters really come to life when I read it and when I close my eyes I can imagine the adventure.
When I open the book it is hard to stop reading because there are lots of questions you ask yourself like – what’s going to happen next?
