Sight loss charity opens first shop in Omagh

A CHARITY aiming to help blind people and those living with visual impairment has opened their first shop in Omagh.

ForSight opened their doors earlier today on Market Street with a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the occasion.

Beverley Scallan, Head of Retail at ForSight, said, “After months of hard work from our team, we’re delighted our first ForSight shop is open for the people of Omagh to visit. We look forward to becoming a cornerstone of the local community as we get to know our supporters and customers in the coming months.”

The shop sells a range of items from clothing to homeware items and will provide volunteering opportunities for the local community.

Chris White, the charity’s CEO, said, “Today is a milestone for ForSight with the opening of our Omagh store which we know will raise much needed funds to support direct services for people who are blind or vision impaired in Northern Ireland as well as funding clinical research into the causes of sight loss.”

The shop will be open six days a week and donations of goods are welcomed.
