Special dawn services being held in Tyrone on Easter Sunday

COMMUNITIES across Tyrone will be rising early this Easter Sunday to take part in a series of atmospheric dawn services organised by local Presbyterian congregations.

Among over 40 such gatherings taking place across Ireland, three are planned for Tyrone – each set in a striking outdoor location and beginning at 6.30am.

These early morning services bring people together to reflect, sing and share in a quiet sense of community as the day begins.

At Knockmany Chambered Cairn, near Augher, attendees will gather at the summit for a short service surrounded by panoramic views and ancient history. Afterwards, breakfast will be served in Clogher Presbyterian Church hall.

Just off the Old Bridge Road, north of Newtownstewart along the A5, another dawn service will take place in a peaceful countryside setting, offering a serene space for contemplation and worship.

In Magheramason village, along Dunnalong Road by the riverside, Magheramason Presbyterian Church will lead a riverside service, followed by breakfast in the church halls – a tradition that brings neighbours together each year.

While each service is slightly different in format, they typically include music, readings, prayer, and a short message, all set against the backdrop of the rising sun.
