JAYNE Kennedy (née Mallon), a much-loved wife, mother, daughter and friend, passed away peacefully at her Killyclogher home on March 8 surrounded by her family.
Born on February 26, 1977, Jayne was the beloved daughter of Dessie and Marian Mallon, and sister to John, Kerry and Maeve. She grew up in Killyclogher, attending St Mary’s Primary School and later Loreto Grammar School in Omagh.
After a time living in Manchester, Jayne began her career with Danske Bank in Belfast before transferring to the Omagh branch, allowing her to return home with her husband after the birth of their first son, Jack.
Jayne met Peter Kennedy in 1999, and they began going out in July 2000.
They married on May 14, 2005, and went on to build a loving family together with their four children: Jack, Luke, Mark and Evie.
“Family was the most important thing in Jayne’s life,” said her husband Peter.
“Jayne could turn her hand to many things, but essentially family was everything to her.”
Peter described Jayne as an ‘amazing’ wife and mother.
“She had a great sense of humour,” he stated.
“In essence, she was a wife and mum, and she was very passionate about it, making a loving and caring home for us all.”
Jayne was not only a loving family member, but also a trusted and cherished friend to many, a person who formed deep connections and lasting friendships.
Peter fondly remembered trips to comedy and music shows in Belfast and holidays together in America, France, Malta and along Ireland’s west coast.
“There was always a lovely atmosphere when you were in Jayne’s presence,” he said. “She made a very happy house for our family and will always be remembered as a warm and loving mother.”
