Brian’s forthcoming book gains high praise

NEW York Times best-selling author, Brian McGilloway has said he is both “grateful” and “relieved” at the initial critical acclaim for his forthcoming book, ‘The Empty Room.’

A story of loss and grief, and the lengths a mother will go to find her missing daughter, ‘The Empty Room’ was recently described as, “searing, thrilling and heart-breaking,” by the award-winning author of ‘Tall Oaks’, Chris Whitaker. Moreover, the gazillion-selling novelist, John Connolly remarked, “A hugely compelling story of loss, grief and vengeance, ‘The Empty Room’ is probably the best novel yet by one of our finest mystery writers. Unmissable.”

‘The Empty Room’ is set for release at the end of March.

“I’m massively grateful – and very relieved – to see the reception so far to The Empty Room, especially from writers I admire so much,” Holy Cross teacher, Brian enthused this week.

“Writers like John Connolly inspired me to want to write crime fiction after all, so his support for the book means a lot to me.”

He added, “This one’s a different book for me, focusing on a mother searching for justice following the disappearance of her daughter. I wrote it during the lockdown last year and I think it probably reflects the claustrophobia and isolation many of us felt during that period while also using the story of Pandora and how, ultimately, we need hope if we are to deal with the most challenging of circumstances.”

‘The Empty Room’ follows on from the highly successful ‘Blood Ties’ which Brian released last year.

“I’m very excited for this publication and look forward to being able to share it with readers,” Brian added. “And hopefully there will be a return to live events too to celebrate publication.”
