FROM humble beginnings in Strabane, Hugo Duncan has established himself as a firm favourite on the airwaves and next week, he’s due to pick up a new award for his ‘Outstanding Contribution To Irish Country Music’ at the Hot Country TV Awards.
During the awards concert, in association with Galway Irish Crystal, Hugo will be presented with his accolade in the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny on Tuesday next (March 26).
Hot Country TV awards concert is Irish country music’s biggest night and once again this year all of the big names will be in attendance. Due to take part are Mike Denver, Nathan Carter, Derek Ryan, Cliona Hagan, Robert Mizzell, Patrick Feeney, Gerry Guthrie, Sandy Kelly, Michael English, Gerry Guthrie, Lee Matthews, The Tumbling Paddies and Claudia Buckley.
Hugo Duncan has been instrumental in the careers of all of today’s Irish country music stars. From when they were starting out to where they are now, he gave each of them valuable airplay on his show on BBC Radio.
