POWERSCREEN celebrated six decades of innovation, its workforce and its strong links with the local community with a special weekend of events in Dungannon and Coalisland.
The Tyrone business, a Terex brand, welcomed former employees, families, customers and members of the public to its inaugural ‘Powerfest’ on Friday and Saturday to mark 60 years since the company’s story began.
The celebrations reflected Powerscreen’s remarkable journey from the founding of Ulster Plant Ltd in Edendork in 1966 to its position today as a global leader in mobile crushing, screening and conveying equipment.
From its early days, the company pioneered mobile screening technology, developing machinery which could be taken directly to the quarry face and transforming working practices across the industry.
While the company’s anniversary has been celebrated around the world throughout 2026, Powerfest provided an opportunity to mark the milestone closer to home and recognise the people and community which have helped shape the business over six decades.
The Powerscreen factory on the Coalisland Road opened its doors on Friday afternoon, with former employees and others who have had connections with the company over the years invited to return, revisit the facility and meet former colleagues.
Family activities were also held at the site before the celebrations moved to Coalisland that evening for ‘Take Over The Town’.
The event in the Corn Mill car park, hosted by Powerscreen and Talal Jomar, featured local musicians and brought the wider community together for an evening of entertainment.
The factory reopened to the public on Saturday, with tours and family activities taking place throughout the day.
A particular highlight was the annual ‘Pat’s 5’ charity run, held in memory of former Powerscreen colleague Pat Mallon.
The 5km event set off from the factory at noon, with this year’s run raising funds for Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.
Sean Loughran, Business Line Director for Powerscreen, said the 60th anniversary was about much more than reaching a milestone.
“Celebrating 60 years is not simply a milestone, it is a tribute to our people who have shaped Powerscreen since day one,” he said.
