A SION MILLS woman has been jailed for five months after making death threat gestures to an immobile pensioner.
Aisling McGuigan (51) of Primrose Park was jailed at Strabane Magistrates Court. She was charged with harassment, making threats to kill, and abusive behaviour.
The court heard that on December 23 an elderly resident phoned police after McGuigan came to her window and slid her finger across her neck, which frightened the elderly lady.
The police were then called again on March 6 after the Sion Mills woman was banging on the victim’s property, damaging her letterbox and shouting abuse at the same victim.

Then on March 29 she was called again after threatening the same pensioner.
Defence counsel Ciaran Roddy said that the defendant had become increasingly mentally unwell in the past few years but acknowledged it put the victim in ‘extreme fear’.
District judge Alana McSorley sentenced McGuigan to five months in custody.
