HOUSING Executive tenants in Fintona are enjoying new double-glazing and modernised bathrooms, thanks to a £900K investment to improve local properties.
A total of 145 properties were fitted with new double-glazed windows earlier this year, while 69 properties had new bathrooms installed.
Sylvia Woods, a tenant in one of the properties for four years, said, “I couldn’t be happier with the work.
“Since having the windows replaced, there’s less noise from the road and there’s more heat inside which will make a big difference in winter.
“It’s a lovely, quiet place to live here with fields behind.
“I’m very thankful to the Housing Executive.
“I have a new wet room which makes things easier for me.
“I was able to pick the paint and tiles and I’m really pleased with it – it’s given the whole house a lift.”
Jackie O’Neill, Patch Manager at the Housing Executive, said, “It’s brilliant to hear positive feedback from tenants on the recent improvements to our properties in Fintona.
“Local homes like Sylvia’s are now more attractive, warmer and more comfortable.
“Tenants will benefit from less heat loss over the winter and lower energy bills.
“Ultimately, this is making homes more sustainable, guaranteeing they stay fit for the future.”
