Bite size French Toast is a quick, fun to make, fun to eat type of lunch or snack that goes down a treat and can really hit the spot. We recommend everyone tries these at least once during their working life. They are also the perfect Sunday brunch or after school treat!
INGREDIENTS
- 4 thick slices of white bread
- 3 eggs
- Pinch of salt
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup white sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon powder
- 3 tsp butter
- Maple syrup or nutella to serve
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut the crust off the bread, then cut each piece into 9 equal cubes.
- Whisk the eggs, milk and salt.
- Add the sugar and cinnamon.
- Melt 1½ tbsp of butter in a fry pan over medium heat.
- Dip the bread cubes in the egg mixture – shake off excess egg. Place the bread cubes in the fry pan for about 1 minute on each side.
- Place the bread cubes straight into the sugar mixture. Toss to coat, then remove onto a plate.
You can pop these into a container or sandwich bag and take them to lunch as a little treat to get yourself through the day. You can east them hot or cold so feel free to heat them up in the microwave for your coffee break.
