Most siblings share an unbreakable bond, not to mention knowing one another better than anyone else. A brother or a sister is often the very first person you’ll turn to in times of trouble, has covered for you more than once, knows your likes and dislikes and most, if not all, of your secrets – including the name of your first ever crush.
You might have had your ups and downs in the past, but you’ve also shared your special moments and as a bride-to-be your favourite sibling will often be the first person you tell when your beloved finally pops the question.
Siblings really are irreplaceable when it comes down to it. They’ll be there for you, no matter what, and long after friends have come and gone, so it makes perfect sense to show your appreciation by involving them in both the planning and the wedding itself and, thankfully, there are many ways they can be.

1. Maids of Honour and Chief Page’s
Many brides appoint a favourite sister to be their maid of honour, however, You don’t have to stick with convention here. There’s really no hard and fast rule that says you can only choose one sibling to assist you follow you up the aisle. If you’ve more than one sister then why not make them all chief bridesmaids, having them walk together? Equally, there’s nothing wrong with having a brother, or brothers, as chief page, walking alongside, or in place, of your maid of honour.

2. Celebrate a Special Skill or Talent
Whether it’s a musical talent, an eye for colour, great dress-designing skills or they’ve a natural flair for organising, allowing your sibling to bring those into the planning will not only make them feel needed and special, but it will also lighten your to-do list.
3. Get Them Ordained
Yes, you read that right! Believe it or not, if it’s a religious affair, any family member, brother or sister, can become ordained and conduct the actual ceremony, they’ll just need to ask the church to nominate them first. What could be more personal, or sentimental, than having your own sibling bringing you together by making it all legal?

4. Give Them a Reading or a Speech
It’s customary for the father of the bride and the best man to give speeches, but who says a sibling cannot make a speech or do a reading – they do, after all, know you best. Allowing your sibling to give a special reading at the ceremony or a speech during the celebrations will help to ensure they have a valued input.

5. Make them a Flower in The Bouquet
Okay, not literally but why not have each flower in your bouquet represent each of your siblings. If you’re happy to make it a colourful one then each of them could choose their favourite colour.
6. Have Them Plan The Hen Party
With your wedding possibly being the biggest day of your life you’ll have enough to do in order to make sure it all goes to plan, so why not designate a siblings, or siblings, to plan and organise the hen do?
