There’s no better time to make your Bride feel extra special than on the morning of her wedding day.
The run-up to the big day is often a busy and stressful time, so take this opportunity to spoil the woman that you love… and for future Brides reading this, feel free to leave this window open on your laptop for your future-Groom to stumble across! You’re welcome!
1. Write a Love Letter
No texts, WhatsApp messages, or DMs allowed! Go old school and put pen to paper to tell your Bride how much she means to you. You don’t need to be the next Shakespeare – just speak from the heart to make it meaningful. If you’re stuck for ideas, write a list instead, noting all the things you love about her – from the cute to the quirky!
2. Arrange a “First Look”
We’ve all seen those Instagram worthy images when the wedding photographer catches the look on the Groom’s face when he sees his Bride for the first time. If you want to surprise your future Mrs, arrange for a surprise first look with the photographer, and get the Bridesmaids to get her to the ceremony 15 minutes early.
3. Engrave the Ring
For a subtle and romantic gesture, why not get her wedding band engraved on the inside with the date of the wedding, the date you met, or a special quote, song lyric, or phrase that means something to you both – perhaps a line from your first dance song that perfectly describes how you feel about her.
4. Make a Memory Box
Put together a memory box for your Bride to open the night before the wedding, or the morning of the wedding. This could include a selection of photos of you together over the years, her favourite chocolates, some fun Bridal PJs, a special memento for the big day such as a necklace, and anything else you can think of that is sentimental or special. A friend of mine received a beautiful surprise pair of Christian Louboutin’s!
5. Breakfast in Bed
Wedding day preparations start early, so arrange for her favourite breakfast foods to be delivered to her and her Bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding, along with a glass or two of Buck’s Fizz, of course!
6. Fireworks Display
Arrange with the venue to have a surprise fireworks display in the evening – it’ll be a lovely treat for the Bride as well as the guests.
7. Mix it Up
You can’t beat a traditional mix tape when it comes to romantic gestures – even if today that means burning a CD or creating a special playlist of Spotify! Put together a list of songs that have meant something to you throughout your relationship, or songs that make you think of your Bride, and get her Bridesmaids to play it the night before, or the morning of, the wedding.
8. Make It Unique
While these ideas will give you some inspiration to get you started – you know your Bride and your relationship, so you will know what thoughtful gestures are sure to make her smile. Talk to her friends for some inspiration if you get stuck, and do something special for your wife-to-be on the morning of your big day.
