£60,000 worth of drugs seized from Omagh ‘cannabis factory’

POLICE have seized £60,000 worth of drugs from a “cannabis factory” located at a property in Omagh yesterday (Friday).

A 32-year-old man has been arrested as a result of the Class B drugs haul.

Chief Inspector Hoy said: “Officers conducted a search of a property in the Omagh area yesterday afternoon, where they located a suspected cannabis factory.

“A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of several offences, including possession of a Class B controlled drug and possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply.

“He remains in police custody at this time, assisting with enquiries.”

The chief inspector added that police are “committed to tackling the illegal supply and use of drugs”.

Anyone with information on the incident have been urged to contact the police on 101, quoting the reference number 1006 of 07/01/22.
