POLICE have appealed for information following a major blaze at a vacant property near Dungannon.
Last night, firefighters spent several hours bringing the fire under control at a vacant property on the Old Eglish Road on the outskirts of the town.
No details as to how the fire started have been confirmed and enquiries are still ongoing.
It is understood that at least four appliances were in attendance and water was sourced from the nearby Black Lough.
The road had been closed but it has now reopened.
A spokesman for the PSNI said, “Police received a report of a fire at a derelict property in the Eglish Road area of Dungannon shortly before 7.25pm yesterday evening (Thursday, February 18).
“The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service notified police and extinguished the fire.
“Diversions were temporarily in place and the road has now reopened.
“Enquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing and anyone who was in the area at the time or may have any information should contact police on 101 quoting reference 2097 of 18/02/21.
