A SPECIAL event was organised in Omagh Library to mark the first-ever national ‘Age Without Limits’ action day.
Presented in collaboration with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (FODC), South West Age Partnership and Libraries NI, it proved to be both stimulating and engaging.
Over 50 participants enjoyed a quiz including a round of questions on ageism, followed by coffee and conversation.
The event not only fostered mental agility through the quiz, but also encouraged social interaction and gave people an opportunity to discuss what it is like to be an older person in the Fermanagh and Omagh district area. The atmosphere on the day was one of fun and shared learning.
‘Age Without Limits’ action day, held on March 20, is the first national event of its kind, a major new anti-ageism campaign from the Centre for Ageing Better.
The campaign has called for everyone to change the way they think about ageing.
The action day was a chance for individuals and communities, workplaces, friends and families to learn, take action and make a difference.
