VACCINE passports will no longer be required in hospitality venues from Wednesday, the Executive have announced.
Ministers met virtually today to decide when to lift a raft of measures brought in to combat the spread of the Omicron variant.
While customers will no longer need to present their Covid pass at pubs, restaurants and cinemas, they will be required for nightclubs and indoor unseated events of more than 500 people. They will also be permitted to reopen on Wednesday
While no longer a legal requirement, hospitality businesses will be advised to keep the Covid certification scheme in place.
The ‘rule of six’ at indoor hospitality venues and the requirement for table service only will also be lifted from tomorrow.
Guidance that no more than three households should meet in a domestic setting will be removed will also be removed on Friday.
Workplaces will no longer be required to ensure two metre social distancing is enforced.
Ministers are set to meet again on February 10 to review the remaining restrictions.
