Fifty three Covid deaths in Tyrone council areas

Fifty three people have died after contracting coronavirus in the council areas which cover Tyrone.

The figures published today (Friday) on the new Covid-19 interactive statistics dashboard gives detailed breakdown of deaths and cases across the north.

In Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area there has been 10 Covid-19 related deaths and 68 confirmed cases.

In Derry City and Strabane District Council area there has been 20 deaths and 147 cases.

In Mid Ulster council area, there has been 23 death and 144 confirmed cases.

 Belfast, has the highest number of cases and deaths, while the fewest were recorded in the Fermanagh and Omagh district.

Four of the North’s 365 deaths happened in the past 24 hours, with a further 14 occurring at an earlier stage, which have only now been recorded.

There is currently 3,623 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the North, with 87 new cases confirmed today.

Meanwhile, The Nisra statistics, published this morning, recorded 393 deaths by April 24.
