TONIGHT’S events at the Bluegrass Omagh 2025 festival have been cancelled because of a road crash earlier today.
The PSNI said there had been a ‘serious road traffic collision’ this afternoon on the A5 between Omagh and Newtownstewart near the entrance of the Ulster American Folk Park.
The park is the location for the popular three-day bluegrass festival.
A short time ago, festival organisers said they had cancelled this evening’s programme because of the crash.
“Due to the serious road traffic collision earlier today, the main road to the folk park has been closed from the Omagh direction. We have been informed by the police that it will remain closed for some time, with diversions in place,” said a spokesperson for the folk park.
“Unfortunately, that means tonight’s programme has been changed and Bluegrass Omagh will finish at the earlier time of 8pm. We are planning for Sunday and Monday to be unaffected.
“All of today’s ticket holders (Saturday) will be contacted shortly with further information regarding their tickets.
“We understand that it is not ideal to disrupt tonight’s planned schedule of performances, but it is an unfortunate situation that is outside of our control. We hope you understand.”
