“A 36-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of two counts of burglary and criminal damage and is currently in police custody assisting with enquiries.”

A picture of the scene shows the two premises with their windows smashed and a police cordon up on the surrounding street.

Sgt Morton added, “Our investigation is ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have any information in relation to it, is asked to get in touch on 101 quoting reference 226 of 29/10/21.”

Nicola Brogan MLA has described the incident as “appalling”, adding, “Those responsible obviously care little for the financial burden the damage caused now places upon these businesses nor the disruption caused in having to clean up the trail of broken glass.”
