A 50-year-old man arrested in connection with a metal grate assault in Ballygawley has been released on police bail.
The man, who was arrested yesterday in suspicion of attempted murder, was released today (Saturday) to allow for further enquiries.
A police spokesperson said “Enquiries are continuing, and anyone who has any information which might assist is asked to call 101, and quote reference number 1024 26/12/24.”
The incident relates to a report of an assault with a metal grate on Thursday (Boxing Day), shortly before 7pm, outside a pub on Main Street, Ballygawley.
The victim is in hospital being treated for a serious head injury.
