Man charged after alleged courthouse damage in Omagh

A 28-YEAR-OLD man is due to appear in court today (Wednesday) charged with assault and criminal damage.

The alleged offences follow an incident yesterday morning when a window in the Omagh Courthouse on High Street was broken and a man was allegedly assaulted.

A police spokesperson said, “Police investigating a report of criminal damage caused to a window in the High Street area of Omagh on Tuesday morning, September 1, have charged a man to court.

“The 28-year-old has been charged with criminal damage, common assault and resisting police.

“He is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday morning, September 2.

“As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
