A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been charged in relation to a hit-and-run incident in Bundoran which killed nine-year-old Tyrone boy last September.
Sergee Kelly, from Upper Mullaghmore, Co Sligo, appeared before Ballyshannon District Court today (Friday) and was charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
It relates to September 23, 2023, when Ronan Wilson was with his family at Atlantic Way, Bundoran, and was killed by a car, which sped off after the collision.
Kelly was previously charged with having been the driver of a vehicle, which was involved in the occurrence of injury to Ronan Wilson, and failing to offer him assistance.
He has also been charged with failing to stop and failing to remain at the scene of the incident.
Defence solicitor, Gerry McGovern, said his client has abided by all bail conditions imposed by the court.
At a previous court hearing,Kelly was granted his own bail of €2,000, while an independent surety of €5,000 was approved.
However today, Judge Monika Leech ordered a further €10,000 cash lodgement to be made, reaffirming the current bail conditions.
The judge said she considered the nature and the degree of the seriousness of the charges and the evidence of the case in making the decision.
Kelly was released on bail to appear again before Ballyshannon District Court on April 19, 2024.
Kelly is prohibited from entering Bundoran and has been ordered to stay out of Northern Ireland
