Police name 61-year-old man murdered in Dungannon

POLICE have named the 61-year-old man who was murdered in Dungannon last weekend.

The body of Sidi Djalo was found alongside his injured eight-year-old daughter at a house on Lisnahull Road on Saturday morning.

His 48-year-old wife sustained non-life threatening injuries during the attack.

A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named because of his age, was yesterday charged at Omagh Magistrates Court with murder in connection Mr Djalo’s death.

Detective Chief Inspector Robinson, from the Police Service’s Major Investigation Team, said: “The thoughts of the Police Service are with Sidi’s family at this difficult time.

“They have also asked for privacy as they try to come to terms with their loss.”
