A NUMBER of schools have been forced to close across Tyrone due to icy and snowy weather creating adverse driving conditions.
The Department for Infrastructure has confirmed as of 7am that over 35 schools are closed across the North.
Ireland is currently in the grip of an arctic blast which has seen days of extensive cold weather bringing snow and ice.
The adverse weather conditions are set to end over the weekend with less cold temperatures expected over the weekend.
Tyrone schools that are closed; Killen Primary School; Artigarvan Primary School; Newtownstewart Model Primary School; St Eugene’s Primary School, Victoria Bridge; St Patrick’s Primary School, Newtownstewart; St Mary’s Primary School, Cloughcor; St Mary’s Primary School, Strabane; St Peter’s Primary School, Plumbridge; Gaelscoil na gCrann, Ballinamullan, Omagh.
