POLICE are investigating what they have described as “a serious assault” at the Main Street area of Sion Mills this morning (Wednesday).
Understood to be a suspected stabbing incident, a number of police units were deployed and paramedics attended the scene at around 9am.
According to the PSNI, three men have been taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries. One man in his 30s and one man in his 20s have been arrested in relation to the incident.
The area at Main Street in Sion and Church Square remains cordoned off.
There are no further details at this stage.
