POLICE have renewed their appeal for information following an armed robbery at a bookies in Dungannon.
Newly released CCTV video of the robbery was featured on last night’s (March 15) edition of BBC One’s Crime NI program.
The footage shows a man in a grey tracksuit armed with a hatchet entering the premises on Scotch Street at around 7:45pm on December 29 last year.
A police spokesperson said, “The male approached the shop counter and struck the security glass with the axe several times. The male then instructed the cashier to hand all the money over.”
The cashier handed over a bag of bank notes containing what is believed to be exactly £6016 and 755 euros.
Police say the offender then instructed the cashier to get on the ground as he fled the premises.
