COOKSTOWN’S McAdoo Kawasaki Racing has announced that Adam McLean has signed on to race the roads for them during their 40th season in 2022.
The Tobermore man will begin his fifth season with the Tyrone outfit, who are again supported by principal sponsor Gortreagh Printing, and the team believe he will again deliver on their machines.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership,” a spokesperson for the team said in a statement earlier this week.
“We believe Adam is one of the best road racers in the world with huge natural ability. The best is very much yet to come from him with injuries and Covid greatly hampering his progress in recent seasons.
“Despite this, he has shown exciting raw speed setting lap records on the Supertwin and Supersport 600 at the Cookstown [100] as well as big progress on the ZX-10RR.
“Only bad luck cost him two comfortable Superbike wins at the Cookstown in 2021 and it’s only a matter of time before success comes on the big bikes.
“The team enter our 40th consecutive season of road racing, beginning in 1983 and we believe Adam is as talented a rider as we’ve ever had.”
McLean is a previous rider of the meeting winner at Cookstown and he has also shown talent on the short circuits, impressing in the British Junior Superstock Championship over the last two seasons.
And he is looking forward to another year on the roads with McAdoo.
“I’m very excited to continue the partnership with McAdoo Kawasaki again for the fifth consecutive season and looking forward to the return of a full schedule or racing,” he said.
“A big thank you to Wintston and Jason for the opportunity also my personal sponsors for making it possible.”
