Dungannon Swifts have confirmed that defender Dylan King will miss the remainder of the season.
King was injured in a Premiership game against Linfield before Christmas and a scan has revealed that he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The standard recovery time for such an injury is nine months.
“This is a obviously a massive blow for both Dylan and the squad but we wish him a full and speedy recovery,” said a club spokesman.
On the plus side for Dungannon both skipper Dougie Wilson and Coalan McAleer are nearing a return to competitive action.
