F&W committee to discuss alternatives

The Fermanagh and Western management committee are set to meet later this evening (Monday) to discuss a number of options on how best to proceed in ensuring that the 2020-21 season can be completed in some shape or form.

The local junior league was suspended last month after a handful of games had been completed. All things being well it is scheduled to resume again at the beginning of January.

With 26 league games to be completed in Division One there will be very little room to manoeuvre if organisers are hoping to complete a full set of fixtures.

That option remains on the table for now but at this evening’s meeting at least two other options will be presented to league officers and club delegates.

Before the league was suspended only 94 of a total of 579 scheduled games had been completed. That leaves 494 games outstanding.
