Dooher optimistic about prospect of Logan return

TYRONE joint-boss Brian Dooher has issued a positive update on his managerial companion Feargal Logan, who has been absent from the sidelines in recent months due to a health issue.

Logan has taken a step back from the senior intercounty set-up due to a health issue which arose on the weekend of their Division One Round Two encounter against Derry on Sunday, February 4 at Celtic Park.

Since then, Dooher has donned the bainisteoir bib on match-day though he revealed at yesterday’s launch of the Ulster Championship in Belfast that he still regularly communicates with Logan, with whom he led Tyrone to All-Ireland SFC honours in 2021. He also expressed optimism about the prospect of Logan’s full recuperation and return to the sidelines in the none-too-distant future.

“Feargal mightn’t be around us physically but he’s about every other way, I chat to him regularly enough.

“We have a very good backroom team and I have to pay tribute to them and the work they’ve done as they’ve made everything normal for us – Joe McMahon, Collie Holmes, Des McGuinness, our Strength and Conditioning Staff and our analysts.

“They’ve stepped up and have taken on the mantle and made it a lot easier for us, they do all the heavy lifting.

“I have to give thanks to those people and the work they’ve done.

“I chat to Feargal often enough and he’s coming on well, and you know what, it probably won’t be long before he’s back with us.”
