LIFFORD Strabane AC’s Adrienne Gallen was in outstanding form at the Donegal under-18, -18 and -19 Track and Field Championships in Stranorlar where she produced the furthest girls’ under-18 hammer throw in Europe.
The talented 16-year-old launched her hammer a whopping 63.20 metres to win the event. Adrienne’s throw is further than the 62.18m effort of Valentine Savva of Cyprus who currently tops the European u18 hammer throw rankings.
Adrienne now looks forward to the upcoming Tailteann Games and hopefully selection on the Irish team for the SIAB Schools International between Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales at the end of September.
