LIAM McMenamin insists he aims to strike the right balance as Strabane Athletic launch their bid for Northern Ireland Intermediate League Cup glory at Newbuildings on Saturday.
The Athletic supremo said his team are in the competition to win it and in a bid to achieve that he fully intends to utilise his full squad of players during the course of the competition.
Newbuildings, who launched their campaign with a 1-0 win over Maiden City at the weekend, are among the favourites to win the tournament outright and McMenamin accepts that the short trip north is a seriously testing opener.
“It’s definitely a tough start. We have Newbuildings on Saturday and Maiden City on the Tuesday,” he said.
“Those teams played each other at the weekend and by all accounts it was a tight affair. I saw the Newbuildings team sheet from Saturday and they are a force to reckoned with. It should be an interesting game but we’ll be going there to win.”
