Celtic call it a day in F&W League

AFTER just two seasons competing in the Fermanagh and Western League Mourne Celtic have decided to call it a day.
 
The Strabane-based club has written to the league’s governing body expressing its deep regret at having to withdraw from Division Three for the 2020-21 season.
 
Following an extremely challenging first season, it appeared that Celtic were beginning to find their feet last season which was cut short owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
 
In the letter to the Fermanagh and Western League, Mourne Celtic secretary Chris Cunningham cited the financial impact of Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown as one of the main reasons for pulling down the shutters.
