Donemana set sights on Senior Cup glory

SATURDAY’S North West Senior Cup final will prove to be an unlucky thirteenth for either Donemana or Brigade.

At least one of the two highly-decorated clubs has featured in each of the last 12 finals, a run stretching back to 2008 when Brigade fell to a three wicket defeat to Limavady.

A year later, Donemana defeated Bready by five wickets before Brigade overcame Strabane by 97 runs to get their name on the prestigious trophy in 2010.

In 2011, the men from The Holm began a remarkable run of reaching the decider seven years in a row, losing to Bready before winning six on the bounce between 2012 and 2017.

And with this year’s decider being hosted at Brigade’s Beechgrove ground, Donemana know they face a big task if they are to annex the title from the current holders who defeated Eglinton by 94 runs to reclaim the trophy in 2018 before retaining it with a facile 226 run victory over Glendermott last term.
