NEW Omagh Accies coach Glenn Kyle has described the positive Covid-19 test by one of his players as a ‘disaster’.
The news came two days before the firsts and seconds were to play their first pre-season fixtures at Ballynahinch on Saturday past and it has now led to the postponement of Omagh’s opening Energia Community Series game of the new season at home against City of Derry this coming weekend.
The Public Health Authority has informed the club they cannot return to training until Thursday, October 1, just two days before their next scheduled fixture at Bangor, which is far from ideal for Kyle, who is hopeful that this is an isolated incident.
“It’s a disaster, it’s damaged our preparations,” he said.” Everything is going well so far, apart from the Covid test and I was really looking forward to going to Ballynahinch because I think we could have given them a real good run for their money.”
