Tyrone riders revved up for Superbike Championship

INTEREST levels in the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Championship should be on the rise across Tyrone given the amount of local talent set to compete in this year’s condensed calendar.

Across the six rounds of the championship, there will be six Tyrone riders in action as well as a host of other Northern Irish competitors, including highly-regarded road racer, Adam McLean, who competed between the hedges for Cookstown-based McAdoo Racing last year.

In the premier class, Keith Farmer has moved from Tyco BMW to Buildbase Suzuki and has recovered from the two broken legs he sustained at Knockhill last July and he is keen to get his season underway alongside new team-mate Kyle Ryde.

The HEL Performance Junior Superstock Championship will see two Tyrone riders go toe-to-toe with Killyman’s Cameron Dawson and Aughnacloy’s Andrew Smyth ready for their second campaigns in the class, while Cookstown’s Matthew McCord, who had initially planned to race in the Honda British Talent Cup, has earmarked the possibility of doing a couple of rounds as a wildcard ahead of 2021.
