A TALENTED Strabane footballer who completed a remarkable recovery from injury is to tell her story in a televised documentary.
Back in March 2020, Sion Swifts Ladies and Northern Ireland underage player Niamh Coyle dislocated her left knee during a club training session at Melvin.
Because of Covid restrictions the young centre-back couldn’t get an MRI scan until five months later.
Despite that major setback, 16-year-old Niamh continued to train as best she could through lockdown and when the scan was eventually completed it revealed that the injury wasn’t as bad as first feared.
Remarkably nine months after dislocating her knee for a second time, the gifted Strabane teen was back training with club and country and now BT Sport want to tell her fascinating story in conjunction with the charity, Hope United, and as part of the build up to next week’s Super Cup Final being contested by Chelsea and Villarreal at The National Stadium.
