THE 2020 Mulhern Cup and Reihill Cup competitions could yet be completed.
In something of a surprise move, Fermanagh and Western FA officials discussed resurrecting local football’s premier cup competitions during a Zoom meeting on Tuesday night and it was agreed to explore the possibility of completing the tournaments during the first half of next season.
The Herald understands that the competitions would resume by playing midweek ties from September on and would be brought to a conclusion by contesting both showpiece finals in the lead up to Christmas.
Such a proposal and break with tradition may require permission from the Irish Football Association and may also mean holding an EGM to make relevant rule changes.
