DEAN Shiels is planning a mass clear-out at Dungannon Swifts.
On Saturday Swifts wrapped up a dismal league campaign with a 1-1 draw at Glenavon.
Dungannon finished bottom, six points behind nearest rivals Carrick Rangers, and are fortunate there is no relegation this season.
The final stats make painful reading for Shiels, his players and the Stangmore Park faithful.
In 38 games Swifts accrued just 17 points following four wins, five draws and 29 defeats.
Shiels insisted that simply wasn’t good enough and he’s now set to ring the changes. A few weeks into the job Shiels said Swifts had too many players on their books and he now intends to get rid of the dead wood as he begins to rebuild.
He said, “There will be 12 to 13 players leaving so we need bodies in. We need players that fit our style, and our identity as a club. And we need experience.”
